...that just wont come out?

Replacing the discs and pads all around on the EOS, fronts were a doddle, rear left was easy and then came the rear right which from now on will be known as "That fu**ing bas**rd of a corner".  50 mins for the first three, 5hrs 20 for the last and it took a 4ft breaker bar to shift one and the other sheared so had to be drilled out. Just what you want on a cold winter Sunday :(

Was that a disc retaining bolt or one of the caliper/bracket bolts? Surprising for a VW on an '06 Plate!

If it makes you feel any better I had to renew the exhaust backbox on my partner's '05 Ford Fusion last week for MOT, the factory fit exhaust is a one piece from the cat back so you have to chop the original pipe, good fun with a hand held hacksaw as you need to chop the pipe right above the rear twist beam axle, there wasn't enough room to get the hacksaw in there so I had to disconnect the rear dampers so I could drop the axle lower and therefore lower the exhaust pipe a bit more, and then what did I do? Chop the old pipe 2 inches too short, then I found the exhaust clamp Ford had sold me was too small anyway so I had to abandon the job for a couple days for an exhaust extension/adapter and the right size clamps to arrive!  ::)
Always learning..... Often by mistakes!

Doh - oh that sucks! I hate exhausts, they never go right for me!

It was the caliper mounting bracket bolts. The disc screw undid nicely, as did the caliper itself but those two were just a right PITA. It doesn't help (being a convertible) that its got all manner of bracing around that area. There is only one entry point for the ratchet and it comes out strait down, its then got about 2" of travel before you have to remove and reset! Grr. I also don't get why they use 16mm bolts on the front and spline / triple square bolts on the rear!
