As well as my Sharan I also have a VW T4 campervan.

VW T4 vans almost always attract a wave from other drivers of a T4, which is nice.

For the first time last week I was waved at in my 2005 mk2 Sharan from another mk2 Sharan driver, does this mean we are now a club?

Have any others waved or been waved at?

Yes, it happens to me quite often.

I love it when I see a car which is the same model and colour as mine and I always wave to them without exception!!

I once parked next to a car that looked identical to mine (even the registration was similar) and it really made my day.
I drive a Seat Alhambra 1.9Tdi which has 115bhp and an automatic gearbox.

I am happy to help you with all your questions. I am not a qualified mechanic but seem to be better at fixing my car than even the most experienced garages.

I have lots of friends here and very much enjoy talking with you all. Always remember, a motor car is a serious tool and should be treated with respect. Put your safety first, always.

I yearn for the days when the AA patrolman on his motorbike and sidecar used to salute your AA badge. Alas, no more...

Do Eddie Stobart truck drivers still wave back?

Big hi to all you truckers out there.

Land Rover drivers seem to wave at each other I've noticed as well.

Its getting less common to see the MK2 around now though still see a few about, they are not as common as they were. Was surprised to see one running round as a Taxi when I was in Jersey last Janurary though.

The MK2 is such a good motor car I think they should start making them again. Many modern motor cars don't seem anywhere near as good. The MK2 Alhamb has it all, basically it was "peak motoring". All the fancy electronics they have these days just don't make up for a good, practical, reliable vehicle. Most integrated electronics are rubbish gimmicks anyway, take those old cars which had in built GPS for example, you're better off putting a phone holder on your dashboard and using Google maps. They date quickly and become obsolete whereas a good, practical, well-built motor car with useful essentials like comfy seats never becomes less useful over time.

They aren't going to start making mk2s again as they can't get the required figures to meet the various standards, and things have moved on somewhat. Too heavy apart from anything else to get good fuel economy (also a reason lots of newer cars don't have a spare tyre). You only have to have lugged the seats out of the back to understand some of the reason for the weight they run around at before you put anyone in the car to add to it.
