Good afternoon, friends!

I was wondering, how often do I need to get the timing belt and tensioner and water pump changed in my 2006 1.9 TDi Alhamb please?

Thank You

I am happy to help you with all your questions. I am not a qualified mechanic but seem to be better at fixing my car than even the most experienced garages.

I have lots of friends here and very much enjoy talking with you all. Always remember, a motor car is a serious tool and should be treated with respect. Put your safety first, always.

60k or 4 years seems to ring a bell

Thank You

Also does anybody know how much this procedure should cost please?

I usually pop my details into the click mechanic web site for a quote (who use engineers in your own area)They are indicating around £350 plus water pump which I guess would be about another 20 or so.Have thought about using them in the past but I have a local guy nearby who does most of my work.As I say it just gives an indication so you are not too shocked 😕

Thank you, that is a clever idea for benchmarking rates!
