Hi there! We have a 2010 galaxy and want extra isofix. Found a full set of mk2 sharan seats on eBay. Am I right in thinking they are compatible?

Many thanks!!

Hey Emily, sadly no they aren't!

Mk1/2:
Galaxy 1995>2006
Sharan 1995>2010
Alhambra 1995>2010

The Mk1/Mk2 Galaxy was the joint venture with VW but the Mk3 Galaxy (yours) from 2006 onwards is pure Ford and shares no parts with the VW or SEAT models. The confusion comes because VW continued the model for a further 4 years after Ford moved away.

13 Porsche Cayenne 3.0 V6 Diesel in Umber Metallic
262Bhp AWD and Factory fresh...for now!

Hmmm, I thought the mk3 was 2015 onwards? There's so much conflicting info online!

So ok, instead, can we just replace the middle row centre seat with a slightly later galaxy seat (2012 for example) that has isofix?

Thanks!

A 2010 Galaxy is a mk3 and the seats won't be compatible with the Sharan mk2 seats. Only the mk1 and mk2 Galaxy (until 2006) and the mk1 and mk2 Sharan (until 2010) are compatible.
I own a MK1 1999 2.3 DOHC Ghia & 2003 1.9TDI Trend.

That's because Ford did their naming a little differently to most other manufactures at the time, the facelift that happened in 2000, Ford called the Mk 1.5, so the Mk2 was 2006>2014 in Ford speak and the Mk3 is the current one - they've since started naming like every other manufacturer and most websites, including this one, ignored their weirdness :)

You can indeed, any seat from a 2010-2015 should fit just fine :)

Thank you! Ok that kind of makes sense! Glad we checked, getting one seat is obviously a lot cheaper we just can't find a matching one, but slightly less bothered about that than the lack of isofix!

Thanks for your time!
